Our Services

Swinging M Wellness offers a variety of services that are integrated into each appointment according to each client's needs. Certain considerations are made based on client preference, medical history, and other factors discussed during the initial appointment.

Ischemic Pressure

Ischemic pressure is the application of positive compressive force in a concentrated area. The amount of pressure applied depends on client tolerance, tissue integrity, and fascial response.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping is used to gently decompress an area. This negative pressure, paired with the gentle sensation of the tape on the skin, also helps with postural support, proprioception, and localized vascular support.

Cupping

Silicone cups are applied to the skin with varying levels of pressure to decompress layers of the fascial network. These cups may be left stationary, glided along the skin, or paired with a quick tugging motion to encourage different fascial responses.

Tailored Mobility Routines

Supporting the body through targeted activation and mobility exercises is key to long-term balance. These routines are tailored to each client and address specific muscle groups to better support the body system.

Orthopedic Myofascial Techniques

Orthopedic myofascial techniques include those listed on this page, as well as active and passive stretching, skin rolling, and mind-body awareness exercises. This encompasses assessment, activation of, and influence over the fascial network.

T.E.N.S.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation [TENS] provides low-level electrical stimulation to a muscle through hydrogel patch electrodes placed on the skin. This can provide pain relief, reduce overall soreness, and help reduce muscle recovery time from more intense sessions.

Gentle Distraction

Distraction is a type of negative pressure input specific to the joints, usually applied through a gentle pulling motion. It allows the muscles and tendons around a joint to lengthen, relax, and become reoriented to an appropriate resting position.

The modalities offered by Swinging M Wellness are limited to the scope of occupational therapy practice as outlined by the NCBOT Practice Act.
