Mary Vieregge, OTR/L

Hello there! My name is Mary, a licensed occupational therapist in North Carolina. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy from Western North Carolina University in 2016 and my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from East Carolina University in 2021.

My career as an OT began in 2021 in Williamston, NC, at a local skilled nursing facility. In 2022, I shifted to a position in the spinal cord injury rehabilitation unit at ECU Health Medical Center. While Swinging M Wellness is my newest endeavor, I still cover occasional shifts at ECUHMC, where the inspiration for Swinging M Wellness initially sparked.

Graduate school prepared me with an entry-level knowledge of manual therapy techniques that I then developed through fieldwork placements and honed as a licensed clinical professional at work and through continuing education opportunities. 

​

I have witnessed how myofascial techniques can add a beneficial dynamic to a therapeutic plan, both as a patient and as a therapist. I have personally benefitted from the better range of motion, pain reduction, and overall decrease in tension.

I owe the inspiration for starting Swinging M Wellness to each patient I've worked with through the years and to many educators who laid the groundwork for me to be judicious and knowledgeable in pursuing this niche area of manual therapy.

 

Witnessing my clients' pain become manageable, sleep become more restful, and functional goals surpassed has brought me an insurmountable amount of joy. A joy I bring with me to each appointment with Swinging M Wellness.

When I'm not meandering around or making appointments, I'm an avid equestrian, knitter, bookworm, and gamer. I look forward to getting to know each one of my clients and help guide their bodies on a journey toward better balance.
